The culprit? This tiny little sound alarm thing that produces the “beeps” when the sensors are doing their job. Labour + part was 230 bucks at the VW dealer.
Also, here they charge labour at $80/hour, how is it in your land of residence?
Part number is 8E0-919-279 for the curious.
Also had a chance to look at the new Passat while waiting for my Passat to be fixed.
So nice.

Aren’t you in Brazil? Do you get the Euro Passat or the NMG North American Passat?
The beep on my Superb comes from the radio rather than a dedicated unit.
Glad you got it sorted.

We get the Euro Passat, mine is a B7 Variant.
I always thought it came from the radio, but there are two buzzers apparently, one on the front for the front sensors and one on the trunk for the rear sensors.

That new Passat is the VW body of mine.
I’ve a buzzer in the rear of mine but that is when I remotely open the boot or use the button on the centre console. If I use the button on the boot there is no sound.
Ye’, the sound definitely is coming through my radio, I’ve rear sensors but no front sensors for parking, there is a radar in the centre of the grille for the cruise control, accident avoidance, etc...
